I am Kalin Botev
Wildlife photographer and story teller
I am a passionate wildlife photographer fascinated with the untold stories of the natural world. For over 20 years, I’ve used my camera to explore the delicate line between beauty and vulnerability, hoping to inspire others to see wildlife not just as subjects, but as lives worth protecting.
Through my project Snimki za smet (Photos for Waste), I encourage people to protect nature — one cleanup at a time. When someone sends me a photo of themselves cleaning waste at a natural site, I send them a high-resolution wildlife image in return. My goal is to unite art and environmental action.
About Me
I photograph wildlife to show what is still beautiful, and what is still at risk.
Color lets the wild breathe in full light while monochrome unveils the hidden emotions beneath.
Each image is a reminder of the fragile balance between us and the world we borrow.
I hope my work helps keep that balance alive.

Ethics
I hope my work inspires others to protect what can’t ask for protection.
Because what we choose to see, we can choose to save.

I envision a future in which photography becomes a quiet bridge between people and the wild. a place where light, color, and emotion can soften the boundaries between species.
Through my images, I strive to uncover the stories we rarely see and remind us of the fragile balance we borrow from nature.
My hope is that art can inspire protection, and that protection can keep the wild alive for generations to come.
